Video: Big Havi – Blood N My Eyes

Trauma affects us all in different ways, sometimes for the worse. However, for some, it’s a tool that they harness to express themselves and what they’ve been through. A couple months removed from his recent EP, No Pen No Pad Just Pain, southern crooner, Big Havi, has returned with a Qasquiat-directed visual for the project’s closing track, “Blood N My Eyes.” Havi’s lyrics, “I know I lie/I told you I’m fine/But to be honest, a n**** hurtin’ inside/All this murder goin’ on/That’s why I just make these songs” express the heavy pain he’s been through, but they carry an even greater weight when they’re cut with scenes from the recent Black Lives Matter protests in Havi’s hometown of Atlanta.
