Since being release from a 2-month prison stint on August 26th, 20-year-old Pittsburgh rapper Jimmy Wopo has been as active as anyone with new video single releases for the past three weeks. This week he shares “Jimmy Bonds,” a new video single that finds him flexing and reflecting on his come up in the Steel City’s Hill District neighborhood atop grim, piano-driven production by Chris Dreamer, with the video directed by Head Shot Films and C4. “Jimmy Bonds” follows last week’s release of “Came Home,” which is at 110K+ views, and “First Day Out,” with 425K+ views.
Jimmy Wopo also recently announced a new mixtape, Back Against the Wall. Determined to avoid falling back into the prison system, Wopo is focused on finishing the project and keeping his head straight. “I’m gonna do everything the right way,” he told XXL. “I’m gonna’ be clean, I’m gonna take care of the drug and alcohol programs. Whatever they want me to do so I can leave when I want. Get approval from the judge and I’m out.” A follow-up to his breakthrough Jordan Kobe project, Back Against the Wall is set to release October 11th.
