Lyric Video: OMB Peezy – Ride

After a frenetic 2017 that started with a slew of viral singles such as Doin’ Bad and Pressure and culminated with his debut project, Humble Beginnings, produced entirely by Grammy-nominated Cardo, Alabama native OMB Peezy has gotten off to a fast start in 2018. Today he drops a new record with an accompanying lyric video.

Floating over a sweeping dirty south slapper, Peezy lays out a mission statement on “Ride,” his new single. Stacking syllables with his signature tumbling flow, Peezy talks his shit on the new single, recounting his childhood struggle and stepping to anyone who would get in his way: “This for dem people who said I couldn’t do it/When I needed help, dey wouldn’t fuck wit a n*gga/Told you, I got you I got you/Don’t trip over nuthin/Before I go I’m touchin’ a million.” Featuring a hook from ATL singer Paper Lovee, “Ride” arrives along with a lyric video. “Ride” builds on the momentum of Young & Reckless, a joint mixtape with Peezy’s 300 Ent. labelmate Sherwood Marty, and proves that Peezy’s excellent run of 2017 singles was no fluke.
