Video: Mista Cain – Made It Out

A local hero in his hometown of Baton Rouge, Mista Cain is a master of the street narrative, spinning true tales into vibrant and rhythmic Dirty South bangers. After establishing himself in the Louisiana rap scene by releasing several mixtapes and mentoring young artists like Scotty Cain and NBA Youngboy, Mista Cain prepares to release The Verdict, his first ever studio album. Packed with snapping trap beats, drenched in soulful organ and reverb-soaked guitars, The Verdict establishes Mista Cain as a vital voice of the Bayou rap game. Featuring appearances from Boosie Badazz, Young Dolph, Starlito, Trouble, and Chrizz Michaels, with production from Mouse On The Track, Jon Boii, JTrax, and others, The Verdict, releasing on March 17th, is an emotional and accurate depiction of Mista Cain’s struggles and perseverance.

Today, Mista Cain shares “Made It Out,” the project’s first video. A contemplative and grateful trap hymn, “Made It Out” finds the rapper reflecting on his experience in prison and the choices he made to land him there. Premiered by Mass Appeal, the video for “Made It Out” is a slice of life video set in the Louisiana backcountry. “Made It Out” shows Mista Cain taking care of business, hanging out on porches with homies, and ruminating in his living room. Produced by Rob Taylor, “Made It Out” follows Run Dem Bandz,” Mista Cain’s collaboration with Young Dolph.
